Looks like this season is off to a great start. Good luck, everyone! I'm very excited to read awesome stories from the Lunar Awards community. Happy writing! :)
There are some fantastic stories on this thread!! I have my reading work cut out for me.
My first entry is "The Rift of Santa Rosa" from the Prompt Quest challenge (so fun!). A woman unexpectedly gives birth in a magical subterranean cavern and must find a way to save herself and her baby.
Here's my first short story entry, The Unstuck Man, in which our intrepid narrator finds himself in a Quantum Leap-type situation, except with a twist.
My entry to this Lunar Awards season is "Outcasts." This short story follows a pair of explorers from Earth who discover an ancient space station orbiting a planet in deep space not gravitationally bound to a specific star. https://newworlds.substack.com/p/outcasts
I opened my substack this week, and this is my second story ever posted. It is an Interstellar Industries Cruise Line experience on the world of Nilara.
I've been hearing a few peope talk about this on here and had been wondering what it was. I think it's a fantastic project and thanks for trying to help Fiction get more visibility on here. I'd love to enter myself, but unfortunately, I don't usually write in the speculative genre. I'll have a think and see if I can come up with anything, though, that I might be able to submit in the future. Best of luck to everyone who is taking part... 😎
I'm thrilled to hear people are talking! And we love all range of experience entering, so don't ever feel shy about giving it a go. Even if you don't, there's plenty of talented authors to discover. Thanks for commenting and for the encouragement, Chris!
Here’s entry number two! This one is titled Ocreth’s Beacon and is my first attempt at writing dragon lore/mythos into my fantasy world. This was originally intended for an anthology submission but I could resist the urge to keep it “in-house” and here on Substack!

My first entry is "Take Your Daughter to Work Day" which has been enjoyed by a few people and is regarded as an Indiana Jones meets Lord of the Rings short story. It was my prompt quest entry and I loved the challenge. https://open.substack.com/pub/hannadelaneywrites/p/take-your-daughter-to-work-day?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=2byo0o

Here's the first of my 'double header' short stories, carried over from Prompt Quest #1:
I've channelled the spirit of Heinlein and E.E. 'Doc' Smith to conjure up a badass space marine mission.
"Because armless ain't harmless, sweetie..."
'Bandita' is best described as ‘Aliens meets Fury Road meets Starship Troopers’ – with a smattering of Halo Jones and Rogue Trooper.

That's awesome, David, that you found the Lunar Awards at the beginning of your fiction journey on Substack. Best of luck!
