Hey David, thanks for your submission. The threshold for anthology consideration is 1,000 words. For the Lunar Awards, I've defined anything less than 1,000 words as flash fiction. You may still enter the story, but it won't qualify for the Winner or Runner-up categories. Do you still want to submit it? You may also choose another story instead. I'll await your response before confirming.
"The Flamekeeper" is dystopian and apocalyptic. It deals with an intimate look at maintaining hope amidst the destruction of infrastructure and comforts during a home-based war.
Hey Malcolm, technically, serials are not permitted. However, if it's like an anthology or shared universe, and, most importantly, self-contained, then I don't see the issue. I'm just trying to avoid incomplete submissions. I'll await your response before confirming. Thanks for asking!
I figured that might have been your rationale, and it tells a complete story (not broken up into parts). I consider it to be a short story, but I included it as a chapter in the novel to explain the main character's backstory. Unfortunately my other stories are all over 7500 words. Gotta learn how to be less verbose
"West Franklin Upper School" - a deleted chapter from my sci-fi universe where a young girl stands on the edge of her destiny and prepares to enter a life of government service in a soft dystopian (sadly not too distant) future.
"Runner's High" - the unintended consequences of an invention can matter more than what it's supposed to do.

"Home Movies" is a chapter in a serialized novel, but it tells a self-contained story. Is this a violation of the rules?
