oh my gawd! so many great writers...so much to read! well done to everyone and huge congrats to the winner... someone i never read yet ...I think! and of course huge huge thanks to the host! giving the community Soooo much!
For me there has only ever been 3 different author's that have been able to transcend the Sci-Fi genre.
This is in no particular order Frank Herbert who wrote the 'Dune' sequence of books, but unfortunately died before he had made any headway on the 7th and final Volume.
Then Isaac Asimov who also wrote an amazing sequence of books called 'Foundation' which for the year he wrote the first one shows how far ahead of his time he was.
Then Phillip K.Dick who's body of work is astounding and if you've seen a good Sci-Fi film then it's a good chance that it's one of his books, but if you're ever going to read another book then it has to be what the film Blade Runner was taken from called 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep' which is light years better than the film and so many layers.
Hey nj, thanks for submitting your story to the Lunar Awards. I haven't set up a feedback mechanism for entries yet. However, that is something to consider for future seasons—a possible workshop for writers post-award. I'm always open to discussing ways to improve your experience. Reach out anytime.
Congrats J.M. Ransom!
